A SHORT DESCRIPTION ABOUT THE "BRUCE"

Wiarton is located at the base of a finger of land known as the BRUCE PENINSULA. Approximately 150 km's long, the "BRUCE" is a place of natural diversity. It is surrounded by water - having Lake Huron on one side, and Georgian Bay on the other.

The Lake Huron side has miles of beautiful sandy beaches and wonderful sunsets - the Georgian Bay side has the rugged majestic cliffs of the Niagara

Escarpment and the crystal clear waters of the bay. The BRUCE PENINSULA offers an experience found no where else. There are several parks, many small fishing villages to visit, and of course the world famous BRUCE TRAIL winds it's way through Wiarton towards it's end in TOBERMORY. Artists are drawn to the BRUCE PENINSULA because of it's rugged natural beauty and visitors can visit on of their many galleries. There are mountain bike trails, cross-country ski trails, and miles upon miles of hiking trails all around the BRUCE PENINSULA. You can fish the waters of Lake Huron or Georgian Bay for prize winning salmon or trout - you could even win a prize in one of the many fishing derby's the area has.

Come and visit the best that nature can offer in Southern Ontario - Come visit the "BRUCE" and get back to nature.
