Art Gallery Assistant

Contract:  October 23, 2021 – December 23, 2021

1 position, 30 hours /week – $14.25 / hour

This position you will be responsible for promoting arts and culture activities/events that take place in The Deep Water Gallery and in the Wiarton area. You will be responsible for but not limited to;

  • Creating promotional materials such as social media ads, posters, and press releases.
  • Responsible for data input, creating and maintaining artist profiles on the website, updating calendars and/or website.
  • You will work directly with local artists and assist them with set up and display of art exhibits.
  • Provide information to; community, tourists, and local residents.

Skills and Assets:

  • Clients Service – the ability to communicate effectively, efficiently, and professionally with the community.
  • Teamwork & Leadership– The ability to work independently as this role is mostly operating solo. The ability take initiative, and complete tasks/projects in a timely manner.
  • Communication – Speaks, writes, and communicates effectively.
  • Digital Media – use skills to input, access, analyze, organize, create and communicate information and ideas with: computer programs, social media, email, phone, web applications

Tourist Information Officer

Contract:  October 19, 2021 – December 18, 2021

1 position, 30 hours /week – $14.25 / hour

This position you will be responsible for welcoming tourists and visitors, assessing their travels needs and goals. Educating tourists and visitors on environmental and historical aspects of the Bruce Peninsula. You will be responsible for but not limited to;

  • Creating promotional materials such as social media ads, posters, and press releases.
  • Responsible for building a travel itinerary and/or providing maps for destinations.
  • Responsible for phone call inquires, documenting statistics and inquires related to tourism.
  • Communicate with local accommodators, businesses, community offerings to tourists and visitors.
